Wow'd in St. Louis !!

St. Louis is a wonderful city....we were just awed yesterday, more than once !

TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM
We got to see lots of trains, big trains and some really old trains.  It was hot but it was still fun to walk around these beasts and of course we wondered what Michael would have thought of all of this.  We also saw other modes of transportation but trains were definitely the highlight. Take a look...

This is the motorcycle that Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape !  Cool !

Henry, this one is for you !  57 Chevy !

SCIENCE CENTER AND BODY WORLDS
We had gone to a science center in Phoenix but we wanted to do something indoor and so we visited St. Louis' offering.  It was smaller but it was not lacking in content and they also had the Body Worlds Expo here, which is I think making its way around the USA.  Joe and I took that in and boy was that something.  No pictures allowed but you can imagine its impact when I tell you that they had human cadavers that were on display to show us the body parts....muscles, nerves, bones, skin, and all the organs.  They also had all the parts and pieces displayed intact and in pieces so we were able to see, for instance, a knee, then a disassembled knee, then a knee with arthritis, then a knee with an artificial implant.  We got to see EVERY body part, diseased and healthy, and it was fascinating.

ST LOUIS ARCH FOURTH CELEBRATION
I am told that the festivities around the 4th at the Arch are amazing and I agree.  We did not go because we were concerned about traffic, but we could see it from our RV park and that was pretty nice.  They had an air show that lasted 90 minutes.  We, along with most of the campers here, got to watch all the planes whipping around and it was pretty neat.  I got a couple of pictures but they are not very good.

Last night we had no WiFi so my normal routine was disrupted, and my blog post had to wait till today, so we were playing cards and at 9PM it started.  The BEST fireworks display I have ever seen in my many, many years of watching fireworks.  It was just spectacular and the backdrop was the Arch....we watched it from our bedroom window and it we were mesmerized.  I won't forget that one, that is for sure !

So, Joe is outside hooking up and we have a 7AM departure for Tennessee.  Yesterday was pretty wonderful and St. Louis is pretty amazing !  xxoo TML
