We arrived into New Mexico this morning and traveled to the southwest corner of the state where we are staying in Deming. Its a small town but its got character and this is an EXCELLENT campground with plenty of amenities.
Okay, all settled in we decided to venture into the desert in search of a road runner ! We know they have been all around us but we had not seen one so we went out and we found one. Here is our catch ! (This one is for the Mundays !)
I CAN EXPLAIN OFFICER !
The story: The first picture is actually of an officer that held us from entering into a sand storm. The winds are gusting up to 60 MPH this evening and this was a precautionary measure. Okay the second one is a fun moment with a pair of OLD police cars in our campground ! Had you for a moment didnt I !
CITY OF ROCKS
We took a quick side trip to visit City Of Rocks State Park, 30 miles northeast of Deming. In the middle of the flat desert terrain you spot a community of rocks in odd formations and stacking. Within the rocks are campsites and its pretty cool. Take a look !
This has been a heavy travel week and tomorrow we head into Arizona for a three night stay in Tucson. Its hot and dry now but the mornings are just beautiful as we head down the highway. I have to tell you, sitting in the passenger seat of an RV with a cup of coffee and taking in the desert as we drive down the road, well I just am very aware of how blessed we are and it takes you lots of places in your mind....I love this trip ! xxoo TML
