Stop Two: Fort Stockton the home of Paisano Pete ! Paisano Pete is a statue of a Road Runner that is 22 feet long and 11 feet tall and is probably the worlds largest Road Runner. Why is this statue there? We have no idea but when we visited the Information Center they gave us lapel pins of Paisano Pete so we think he is pretty well liked ! Here's Pete !
Stop Three, our final destination, Van Horn, Texas. Now this is something we never expected but it turns out that John Madden, former coach for the Oakland Raiders, is a fan and frequent visitor to this town. Why? John Madden wanted to see the Monday Night Game on TV when he was traveling and he stopped at Chuy's Restaurant where it was airing. He had a great time and mentioned that in a Time Magazine article. In 1993 he featured Chuy's Restaurant on the All Madden Show and dubbed the place the All Madden Hall Of Fame. He has been to Chuy's every year since then and they have a chair, in front of the big screen TV, and his favorite dish waiting for him at all times. Here's John !

We had to ask..."Why is Hall spelled Haul?" and the answer is that John Madden requested it that way. Okay, whatever John wants is good enough for us !
