Sightseeing in South Dakota ! WOW !

MT.RUSHMORE
All of my adult life, I have wanted to see Mt. Rushmore and today I did.  I will never forget the feeling I had when we first laid eyes on it, as we rounded the mountains up to the entrance.  It is really fantastic and we had a beautiful day to enjoy it !

The first glance !

Just about everyone that comes here has their picture taken in this location !!

Do you see the men on top of Lincoln?  They are doing some repairs today !

Profile view of Washington...very cool !

CRAZY HORSE
Crazy Horse is a privately funded project that is underway and is a memorial to pay tribute the Indian Nations.  When it is complete it will be Chief Crazy Horse sitting on a horse and pointing in answer to the derisive question asked by a white man, "Where are your lands now?"  Chief Crazy Horses reply is "My lands are where my dead lie buried."  The work is just starting on the horses head.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WOODCARVING
This is a museum that displays the work of carver Dr. Niblack, who spent over 70,000 hours creating a world of woodcarving wonder and magic.  Many of his carvings come to life through mechanics that he has applied to the scenes.  It's very impressive and we took a slew of pictures so I had a hard time picking just a few to share.  We got to see the work of a knife maker and carver in Ohio, and this is equally impressive !

Everything in this scene is carved !

This guy was amazing !

Chain gang !

A courtroom trial !

Surgery !

BRONCO BILLY
We stopped off in Keystone on our way home today and did a little shopping.  Joe had a rodeo moment !
